The Miraculous Power of Movies and a Valentines Day List ~ by Linda Living Joy Lorenzo ~ AKA "The Movie Muse"

The Mystical, Magical, Miraculous Power of Movies
As far back as I can remember,
I have been engaged in an eternal love affair that is deeply embedded in my
Heart, Mind, Soul and Spirit.
It is an ongoing, enduring, never ending, always present Passion...
It is most assuredly my Love of expression,
through the written, spoken and enacted Beauty and Power of Words.
This Passion is supremely and most exquisitely culminated in all its glory for me
within the Incarnation of a Force so Powerful,
that it has within its tenets the capablilty to change and alter the course
not just of our lives, both individually and collectively,
but of the evolution or devolution of our World,
Our Planet and ultimately the Universe.
Such, I believe, is the Power and the Force of Motion Pictures!
This awareness that is so deeply entrenched in me
is why those who know and love me,
have affectionately dubbed me "The Movie Muse".
Anyone who has even had the slightest of interactions with me, will tell you,
that this philosophy permeates my entire being...
I use dialogue and movie references constantly in casual conversation,
lectures, writings, workshops and during Spiritual Mentoring and
Intuitive counseling sessions.
I remember as a child, one Saturday a month,
My mother and I would have a "date" at the plush and magical
RKO Palace Theatre to see whatever the latest
Disney or children's movie was playing at the time.
I would get all decked out in my prettiest dress,
complete with patent leather shoes, tights, white gloves, hat and purse.
We would have an elegant lunch at the exquisite "Manhattan" Restaurant,
(Neither of which, any longer exists, except in my Heart, Mind and Remembrances)
After delighting our palates with thier "citywide famous" home made Chicken Pot Pie,
It was time to head for the Movies.
I would walk down the royal red carpet, my tiny feet sinking into its lush texture,
feeling like a princess ready to embark on some exotic, magnificent adventure.
After our traditional visit to the concession stand,
we would settlle in our plush seats savoring our bags of popcorn,
a true treat for the senses, popcorn whose smell and flavor has defied duplication,
and for the next hour or so, my life would be gloriously, beautifully, magically transformed.
What I would experience during these outings,
would shape my young consciousness
for the remaining unfolding years of my life.
This my Friends, is Immense and True Power...
This Power, like all power, can be used to build or destroy
It can not only inform and entertain,
but at its worst it can wield its awesome sword to depress, incense, incite
manipulate and anesthesize an entire population to the presence of pain, violence and destruction.
But this sword is two sided...at its very best..it is capable of great and mighty deeds.
It can enhance, uplift, enlighten, inspire, motivate and transform.
This industry carries with it the ultimate Power and Responsiblity
to literally raise the consciousness of Human Kind
to a level never before experience in Human history.
We must be very aware and ever vigilant to the fact,
that when we are in the process of viewing a film or watching television,
that our belief systems and consciousness
are most definately being supremely persuaded, manipulated,
molded and dramatically shifting.
As a Peace Activist and Worker in the Light,
I am consistently aware of the effect that the medias of
Television and Motion Pictures have on our Society...
We are constantly, consciously and unconsciously being molded,
influenced and affected by what we are viewing.
Make no mistake, there is no greater place of denial and misuse,
to assume that it is "just a movie" or "just a show"
And those that have the creative and monetary access to this venue,
Hold the Supreme, Sober and Awesome Responsibilty
in thier very Hands, Hearts and Minds
To use this Force for the Upliftment of Awareness and the
Ultimate Evolution of Our Species and Our World.
I believe this is why I was so profoundly and emotionally moved
when recently viewing what I believe to be the most important,
beautiful and courageous film I have seen to date.
"Avatar"
I must confess, I was so moved by this film the first time I saw it...
And Yes, I will admit, I have seen it several times since...
That I actually shouted out..."JAMES CAMERON IS A GOD!"
OK, I know that may be a little over the top...
But my enthusiasm was not only for the brillant, emotional and soulful depiction of
the Spiritual connection to All that Is...
Our connection to the Land and to each Other...
The nature of Spirit that runs through All Things in Creation...
The concept that...A Tree is not JUST a Tree!...
Or the Truths and Wisdom which the Indigenous of all cultures
have understood since the inception of Life.
But for the shear audacity, courage and moxy that Cameron displayed
in the birthing and the creation of this project.
I can literally feel a major shift has occured in the collective consciousness
of our Planet as a result of the mere viewing of this film by millions.
And here is the incredible part,
some of them are not even aware that they have shifted!
This Spiritual shift has occured in the past, also,
with such films as ET, Star Wars, Close Encounters, The Little Tramp
and many more too numerous to mention...
And I applaud and revere all those filmakers past and present
who are and have consciously used their craft to raise awareness and
shift the collective consciousness.
Indeed there have been many, Steven Speilberg, Charlie Chaplin,
George Lucas and even my surprisingly recent hero of late, George Clooney...
just to mention a few...this list is by no means complete.
As well as those who have brought
Light, Intelligence, Humor, Joy, Love, Beauty,Magic and Enchantment to our lives...
Nora Efron, Neil Simon, Walt Disney, Norman Jewison, Lasse Hallstom, Nick Cassavettes...
Once again, only a partial list...
I applaud you ALL for your invaluable contribution to the
Quality of our Lives, and the Upliftment of the Masses!
So, to all who are reading this piece, and have been in
any small way, affected by it...suffer me this...
The next time you view a film, television show or even a commercial...
Ask yourself what kind of emotions this evoked in you...
Become attuned to your body and its language,
What is coming up, either to be healed, rejected
or to be brought into the Light.
Become a conscious watcher, an aware listener...
And an embodiment of the Truth!
And finally, from one of my most favorite and quoted lines,
voiced by Morgan Freeman in the movie "Bruce Almighty"
(and I am not kidding...this is actually printed on my checks!)
"BE THE MIRACLE!"
And so, In the Spirit of this little treatise and the Spirit of the Season of Love...
The Movie Muse has compiled,a not by any means complete list,
of what I believe to be a good representation of some of my
